Catena-X National Competence Center presentation with ANFAC and SERNAUTO
Official launch of the Catena-X Competence Centre of Spain, whose main focus is promoting the digitalization of the automotive industry value chain in Spain.
ANFAC and SERNAUTO presented the Spanish Catena-X Hub at the Global Mobility Call, the sustainable mobility congress held in Madrid. The initiative aims to drive the digitalization of the automotive industry’s value chain in Spain.
Frank Goeller, Vice President of Internationalization at Catena-X, stated that “by standardizing and securely exchanging data, Catena-X enables more efficient collaboration between manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers.”
Arancha García Hermo, Director of Industry and Environment at ANFAC, explained that “through this Spanish Hub, we aim to facilitate access to knowledge, materials, and training through active participation, representing the common interests of our members, testing existing use cases, and developing new solutions.”
José Portilla González de Amézaga, General manager of SERNAUTO, highlighted aspects related to the project’s governance: “All ANFAC and SERNAUTO members will automatically become members of the Hub, but it is also open to any organization or company interested in optimizing data exchange across the automotive value chain, even if they are not members of ANFAC or SERNAUTO.”
Oscar Lázaro, General manager of Innovalia, added: “For the Innovalia Group, it is a great pleasure and honor to share that we have the support of the Catena-X initiative to lead the establishment of the first Competence Centre in the network outside Germany. The Catena-X Competence Centre in Spain will ensure that the Spanish automotive industry can operate efficiently within the Catena-X supplier and customer networks.”
To showcase real-world examples of how this data space is already being used in the automotive industry, the event featured speakers such as Ernesto Barceló, Chief ESG Officer at Gestamp; Iñigo Suárez, Head of AI, Data & Hyperautomation at SEAT; and Elena Madera, Head of Automotive & Manufacturing at T-Systems.
The event was closed by Antonio Alcolea Muñoz, Deputy Director General for Programs, Governance, and Promotion at the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service.
