Data spaces, an essential building block for industry

Catena-X and Michael Hahn (Managing Director of Value Creation & Technology) have published this new article, which explains in a practical and accessible way why data spaces are already an essential building block for industry. Their message is clear and direct: The real leap forward is not only inside each company, but in the ability to connect the entire value chain efficiently.

The publication highlights that many companies are still working with fragmented data, closed systems, and point-to-point integrations that are difficult to scale. In contrast, data spaces enable companies to share information under common rules, without relying on a centralized platform and while maintaining control over how their data is used.

Catena-X also stresses that data sovereignty does not hinder collaboration; it makes it possible. In a context shaped by growing regulatory demands, more complex supply chains, and the need for greater resilience, the debate is no longer whether this model will be necessary, but when it will be adopted.
