From the Competence Centre of Catena-X in Spain, we closely follow developments that strengthen Catena-X’s global reach. On 19 February 2026, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) hosted in New Delhi the 1st International Conference on Automotive Material Compliance & Sustainability (AMCS), closing its Sustainability Week 2026 with a clear focus on circularity, regulatory compliance, and digitalisation to enable a more transparent and resilient supply chain.

At the conference, Hanno Focken (Managing Director of Catena-X) highlighted how growing regulatory demands and supply-chain complexity are accelerating the shift towards trusted, interoperable data ecosystems. In this context, India was recognised as a central link in global automotive supply chains, where verified data is increasingly becoming part of market access—supporting compliance and enabling products to move more smoothly across borders.

In parallel to the event, it was also signalled that conversations have started with OEM and supplier representatives in India to take the first steps towards a Catena-X Hub in India, reinforcing international collaboration around open, industry-governed standards.

For the Spanish ecosystem—OEMs, Tier-N suppliers and technology providers—these developments are highly relevant. India is a major industrial partner, and alignment with trusted data-sharing models can accelerate traceability, regulatory reporting and circularity strategies across increasingly connected value chains.
