Success at the 2nd Gaia-X Spain Data Economy Summit
We are leaving with one clear takeaway: today, the real challenge is not technological, but organisational, cultural, and managerial
Following our participation in the 2nd Gaia-X Spain Data Economy Summit, the Catena-X Competence Centre takes a very positive view of an event that once again brought the role of data spaces in industrial transformation to the forefront. More details are available in the original post.
The round table in which Silvia Rodríguez took part, together with representatives from ANFAC and T-Systems, highlighted Catena-X as a key reference point for driving a more connected, interoperable automotive industry that is ready to share data securely and sovereignly.

The challenge of SME participation was addressed, along with the need to smooth their path into the Catena-X ecosystem, especially considering that the sector is made up of 90% SMEs, and that their active involvement is key to the real activation of the entire ecosystem across the value chain.
It was also explained how the Competence Centre promotes the development of digital services based on Tractus-X. As an open-source project, it encourages a diversity of solutions and providers, strengthening the ecosystem and preventing SMEs from becoming dependent on a single supplier.
From our perspective, one of the main conclusions of the event is that the challenge is no longer only technological: for data spaces to be deployed effectively, it is necessary to support companies, facilitate their integration into the ecosystem, and translate this model into concrete opportunities across the entire value chain.
The summit therefore reinforced the role of the Catena-X Competence Center as a support point for bringing these capabilities closer to industry and for continuing to promote the practical adoption of Catena-X across the sector.
