On 17 February 2026 in Bilbao, the first international hackathon of the Eclipse Tractus-X community in Spain took place— a highly technical, 100% hands-on day focused on developing and testing real components for industrial data spaces supporting automotive and manufacturing.

The event—structured as a full-day working session—enabled participants to collaborate closely in a practical environment, with the goal of advancing interoperability, trust, and data sovereignty across the Catena-X ecosystem.

At the start of the hackathon, Silvia Rodríguez Del Rey (Director of the Catena-X Spain Competence Centre) delivered the welcome address and highlighted the value of the community’s work in tackling technical challenges around Tractus-X. She also stressed the importance of building continuity, so that the outcomes and connections created during the day don’t remain a one-off, but instead strengthen knowledge and collaboration across the digital ecosystem.

The day was organized around two main workstreams, aimed at producing technical results that can feed into ongoing development and upcoming delivery cycles:

  • Tractus-X Identity Hub Wallet: further development and integration within the Tractus-X “umbrella”.
  • Industry Core Hub extensions: add-on integration and interoperability work.

The format included coding sessions, a wrap-up, and a final networking slot—fully aligned with the open community approach promoted by the Eclipse Foundation and Catena-X.
