On 9, 10 and 11 June, Bilbao will host Data Economy Week, an initiative organised by BAIDATA that will bring together key stakeholders from the European ecosystem of data spaces, digital sovereignty, digital twins and industrial interoperability.

Over these three days, at Euskalduna Palace will host a series of events aimed at connecting Europe’s data strategy with real use cases and industrial applications. The week will begin on 9 June with the “Digital Twins” session, focused on the convergence between data spaces and digital twins as drivers of a more connected, efficient and interoperable economy.

On 10 June, the Data Spaces Decade Forum will take place, marking the tenth anniversary of IDSA (International Data Spaces Association) and bringing together global leaders from the sector. The BAIDATA Assembly, aimed at the association’s members, will also be held on the same day.

The week will conclude on Thursday, 11 June, with the V BAIDATA Forum, under the slogan “Data Spaces in Action”. This flagship event for the data economy in the Iberian Peninsula will focus on regional implementation, tangible value and the practical application of data spaces.

As part of the 5th BAIDATA Forum, Silvia Rodríguez, Director of the Catena-X Competence Centre, will participate as moderator in the session “Driving the competitiveness of the automotive sector through Catena-X”.

The round table will feature Jon Becker, Chief Commercial Officer at Cofinity-X; Thorsten Huelsmann, CEO of the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA); and Shanawaz Sheik, Director of Sustainability at Flex Automotive and Director of Catena-X’s Internationalisation Committee.

The session will address how Catena-X can help strengthen the competitiveness of the automotive sector through the secure, sovereign and interoperable exchange of data between organisations. For the Competence Centre, participate in this event represents an opportunity to bring the advances of the Catena-X ecosystem closer to the Spanish business community and to reinforce its role in the digital transformation of the automotive value chain.
